Plea Bargain...

I talked to the prosecutor last Wednesday and he is going to offer the pedophile a plea bargain tomorrow. He knows the pedophile because he used to be a deputy in the court where this prosecutor works and he said that he doesn't expect him to accept it. The reason why is that he is very cocky and self-assured. Like most pedophiles he didn't think that he would get caught so he is playing this charade to the very end. I just can't believe that he wants his elderly mother to have to sit in a courtroom and hear all of the sordid details of what he did to Baby. Ridiculous, but par for the course with this one, I guess.

Anyways, the prosecutor wants me there tomorrow for the plea. I don't really know why because it isn't up to me. I asked him point blank if the victim had to agree to the plea bargain and he said no that he just wanted me there so that I could be informed. I hope he takes whatever it is because I don't want her to have to testify on the stand and she doesn't want to either. She will, of course, if it is the only chance she has of seeing him behind bars. Winning this case is a long shot since there's no hard evidence, but that's what life is about sometimes, right? Beating the odds.
